Molecule Ultimate UHMW Skid Plate 250/300
Molecule Motorsports skid plates are built in the USA right next door to Vanasche Motorsports so it made sense to partner up and offer their premium products right alongside their own.
Cut from UHMW (Ultra High-Molecular Weight Polyethylene) plastic and formed for an exact fit on each bike model to provide the ultimate in protection from rocks, stumps and other obstacles we encounter in technical off road riding conditions. UHMW slides easily over rock when compared to traditional aluminium skid plates and returns to its shape after significant impacts. The unique shape of a Molecule Skid Plate greatly reduces the amount of mud build up inside the skid plate in muddy conditions, reducing weight gain.
Bracket or no Bracket? KTM EXC/XC-W/XCF-W and Husqvarna FE/TE models from 2017-2022 do not require a bracket. These models use the 2 bolts on the lower frame rails to secure Molecule Motorsports skid plates to the frame along with a sturdy hook that engages the cross tube at the back of the engine cradle.
KTM SX/XC/SX-F/XC-F and Husqvarna FC/FX/TC/TX models REQUIRE a mounting bracket to install a Molecule Motorsports skid plate because they do not have the 2 bolts on the lower frame rail. During initial installation, bolt everything up loosely, use a piece of tape or Sharpie to mark where the bracket should be, then use the permanent adhesive pads to hold the bracket in place, making it easy to remove and reinstall the skid plate.
