The factory rear axle nut on the Ducati Desert X is less than ideal. It requires a 12-point 36mm socket to remove and hauling around a 0.5kg socket and a 1kg 1/2" drive ratchet just in case of a rear flat didn't appeal to us. 

This axle nut is machined from 7075-T6 Aerospace grade material and sports a standard 6-point 36mm hex head so that it can be removed by a common adjustable end wrench (crescent). Unfortunately an adjustable end wrench capable of handling this size is also enormous and heavy.....so we added an extended 32mm 6-point hex head to the end of the nut. This allows you to utilize our standard ALUMINIUM TYRE LEVER/WHEEL SPANNERS

 with a 32mm hex wrench to remove the rear axle and tire/wheel assembly. 

  • USE HIGH PRESSURE MOLY GREASE TO LUBRICATE THREADS
  • TORQUE AXLE NUT TO 90 lb*ft (~120N*m)
